Before You're 13 is designed for families. We collect only the information we need to provide the service, mail your child's letters, support your account, and understand how families find us.

We may collect the following information from a parent or guardian:
- Parent or guardian name
- Email address
- Mailing address
- City, state, and ZIP code
- Subscription or enrollment type
- How you heard about Before You're 13
- Referral information you choose to provide
To prepare and mail a child's letters, we may also collect:
- Child's name
- Child's birthdate
- Letter edition selected by the parent or guardian
- Mailing information needed to deliver the letters
3. Children's information
Parents and guardians complete the enrollment.
Before You're 13 does not ask children to create accounts or independently submit personal information to us.
We use a child's information for purposes connected to the Before You're 13 program, including preparing, personalizing, and mailing the child's letters and maintaining the enrollment.
We do not sell a child's personal information.
We do not use a child's enrollment information for behavioral advertising.
A parent or guardian may contact us to ask what information we have about their child, request a correction, or request deletion, subject to legal or operational requirements.

- Prepare and mail personalized letters

5. Payments
Checkout and subscription transactions are handled through Payhip and the payment processors it makes available.
Before You're 13 does not collect or store full payment card numbers on the Before You're 13 website.
Payment providers may collect information needed to complete the transaction under their own privacy and security practices.

We use third-party services to operate Before You're 13. These may include:
- Payhip for checkout and subscription transactions
- Tally for parent or guardian enrollment forms
- Google Analytics for optional website analytics
- Meta Pixel for optional advertising measurement
- Website hosting and email providers
- Payment processors used through Payhip
These providers may receive information needed to perform their services.
We do not intentionally send a child's name, birthdate, mailing address, or other enrollment-form fields to Google Analytics or Meta Pixel.

If you accept optional cookies, we may use Google Analytics to understand website activity, such as pages visited, how visitors arrive at the site, approximate location, and browser or device information.
Google Analytics may use cookies and similar technologies to measure website activity.
On Before You're 13 pages where our privacy choice controls are implemented, Google Analytics does not load when you choose Essential only.
8. Meta Pixel
If you accept optional cookies, we may use Meta Pixel to measure website activity and the performance of advertising on Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.

If you want to make a new privacy choice, use the button below. It clears the saved Before You're 13 privacy selection and returns you to the homepage, where the privacy notice will appear again.
Payhip, Tally, and other third-party websites may have their own cookies, privacy controls, and privacy policies. Our Before You're 13 privacy choice does not control cookies placed on those third-party websites.

We do not sell personal information.
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the program, process transactions, host the website, provide analytics, send communications, or perform other business functions.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to investigate fraud or misuse.

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including fulfillment, customer service, recordkeeping, legal obligations, and account administration.
We review records periodically and delete or securely dispose of information that is no longer needed.
We aim to avoid keeping a child's personal information longer than reasonably necessary to provide the program and meet applicable legal or recordkeeping obligations.

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect personal information.
Sensitive website configuration information and transaction logs are kept outside the public website directory where practical.
No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we work to limit access and reduce unnecessary collection and storage.

A parent or guardian may contact us to:
- Ask what personal information we maintain
- Request a correction
- Request deletion where appropriate
- Ask us to stop certain communications
- Ask questions about their child's information

14. Email communications
We may send emails needed to manage a subscription, Community Gift, enrollment, renewal, or customer-service request.
Marketing emails will include an unsubscribe option when required.
